Together with the company I work for, VanBerlo, and in a beautiful team of designers, I designed a traffic sign family. Duality in every aspect, simplicity and functionality are the most characteristics of these signs. In every element the curve guides the user. In the sign it’s in the shape of an arrow, in the furniture it creates space for a nice sit. Rewarded with a Good Design Award and and an IF Award.

Moving movies

This movie goes back to the basics: it is body movement that makes it roll – just like an old fashioned flip book. Two parallel walls act as a projector and filmstrip. Through the small gaps in the front wall, the viewer sees the images on the back wall flashing by when passing. Applied on for example a noise barrier along the railway, your train ticket becomes a free ticket to the movies. Enjoy the show as you come or go.

Springtime

Nothing like a summer picnic, but sitting down on wet, prickly or sandy grounds might be uncomfortable. This basket offers the perfect solution to that problem. It holds a table for two, chairs and plenty of space to store your food, plates, cups and cutlery. Easy to carry on your bike to any idyllic dinner location: have a seat and enjoy a lovely meal in nature. Life is a picnic after all.

Suitcase symphony

There is music in everything around you. Use your trolley suitcase as a musical instrument on these relief paving stones to create your own composition. The wheels will pass on vibrations to your suitcase, which acts as a sounding board. These tiles add life to the cold, sterile spaces at airports and form a serious competitor for the moving walkways: will you choose the silent way, or the melodious one?
